Naomi Simson RedBalloon

Last week was a great week of learning – Early in the week I attended the Entrepreneurs Organization event with Tessa Marshall on ‘Powerful Conversations’. Later that day the deputy commissioner of NSW Police – Catherine Burn (and National Telstra Business Woman of the year 2011) spoke at a RedBalloon lunch and learn about her career – which began in 1984 prior to the royal commission – and now she is accountable for a $2.7billion budget. A great story of commitment to the community.

I even managed a bit of a sing at Sydney Sings – we have a concert this week if you would like to attend – details below.

Mid week was a day of reviewing grant applications for Voiceless – as well as presenting for MH Carnegie incubator in Paddington. Thursday and Friday I was ensconced in female entrepreneurialism at the Women in Focus conference in Noosa. Well done to the CommBank team who pulled together a first class line up of speakers. (and I took to the stage with Wendy McCarthy and Rhonda Brighton Hall to debate – ‘if women can have it all’ – Our team was the affirmative – and we were completely dumbfounded when our opposing team took away the gong!! It was great fun.)
